Six Indians are among over 300 people arrested by American authorities for criminal activities and violating the country's immigration laws during a month-long crackdown across six states.

NEW YORK: Six Indians are among over 300 people arrested by American authorities for criminal activities and violating the country's immigration laws during a month-long crackdown across six states. Federal officers with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 364 "criminal aliens" and immigration violators during a 30-day enforcement action across Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin, officials said. Those arrested during this operation came from 25 countries, including six from India, they said.

Halsted St., Chicago. Hammad's bail was set Thursday at $100,00 and Kanan's at $50,000. Two Indiana men were also charged, and it's alleged that the Illinois merchants bypassed taxes they would have paid if they bought liquor from a distributor by dealing directly with Indiana liquor stores.
