Seven Indian American Men, of Punjab, India Origin Arrested for Inappropriately Touching Young Girls

Seven Indian American men, of Punjab, India origin ( Gursharanpal Banga, 34; Manpreet Dhillon, 26; Lakhveer Gill, 30; Baljinder Khaira, 38; Balwinder Malhi, 32; Dharampal Singh, 21; and Harpreet Talwar, 18). were arrested on Memorial Day May 28 on charges of inappropriately touching young girls at the Golfland Sunsplash Water Park in Roseville, Calif. They were released May 30, according to a Fox40 report, which reported that the Placer County District Attorney's Office said there was not enough evidence to formally charge the men, and requested more time to gather more evidence like witness statements and possible surveillance video.
The men must return to court on June 27, said the Fox40 report.
The Roseville Police Department released a news alert May 29, which stated that the men were arrested on felony charges of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
“It appears that the individuals who were arrested knew each other and worked in a coordinated effort to inappropriately touch several female juveniles,” noted the RPD in the news alert. “We do not believe there’s any ongoing threat to public safety. This is a unique investigation – these individuals might not have been caught if these young victims hadn’t reported the incident to on-site security,” stated the police department, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
The seven Indian American men were arrested are: Gursharanpal Banga, 34; Manpreet Dhillon, 26; Lakhveer Gill, 30; Baljinder Khaira, 38; Balwinder Malhi, 32; Dharampal Singh, 21; and Harpreet Talwar, 18. Bail was set at $300,000.

Kishan Modugumudi – also known as Sreeraj Chennuppati – and his wife, Chandrakala Purnima Modugumudi, were arrested April 30, and charged with several counts of “importation of aliens for prostitution.” The couple is currently in detention with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Illinois. Their next court appearance is scheduled for July 9.
